LOCAL WORKSPACE

Practice happens locally.

Use the tools for your language on your own computer. Save an example, predict its output, run it and change one thing. Keep those files so you can see how your understanding grows.

Moodle holds your lessons and assessments. CodeRunner is the code examiner: it checks a defined task, rather than replacing your editor or providing an open practice computer.

  • Install tools from their official sources.
  • Use fictional data and a separate practice folder.
  • Ask for help before changing security settings.
REASON ABOUT IT

Understanding quiz

Read the situation, connect it to the lesson and explain the result to yourself before choosing an answer.

WRITE THE REQUESTED CODE

CodeRunner code exam

Follow the exact input and output requirements. If the question supplies part of a program, write only the part it requests.

Both assessments require at least 8/10. Attempts are unlimited, the highest grade counts and there is no completion deadline. Your course lists the required readings and certificate conditions.

Where should I begin?

Choose one learning path, open its first course and read the introduction. Read one idea, try one small change on your computer and compare the result before moving on. You do not need to finish in one sitting.

How do I register and enroll?

Open the Academy, choose Create new account, confirm your email and accept the applicable policies. Open a free introductory course and choose Enroll me. No enrollment key is required. The Academy is intended for adults aged 21 or older.

Where do I practice my code?

Practice on your own computer with a code editor and the tools for your language. Save your files locally so you can return to them. For HTML and CSS, open your files in a browser. Moodle contains the lessons, the understanding quiz and the CodeRunner code exam; the exam checks a specific task and is not a general development environment.

What is the difference between the quiz and the code exam?

The understanding quiz asks you to reason about what you learned. The code exam uses CodeRunner to check your answer against the task requirements. Read the question carefully: some tasks provide inputs or part of a program and ask for only a few instructions. A complete local program is not always the answer requested by an exam.

Does a different result always mean my code is broken?

No. Code can run successfully and still miss the exact requirement of an assessment. Compare the expected output with your result. Check names, spaces, boundaries and the inputs the question supplies. Practice freely in your local files; submit the answer the exam actually requests.

Which language can I study in?

Use the English / Español selector in the Academy catalogue. Python, HTML and CSS are available in English; the full introductory catalogue is available in Spanish. Your enrolled courses stay in My courses regardless of language. Progress is separate between language versions.

Is there a deadline?

Introductory courses have no completion deadline. You can return to lessons and retry the assessments; your highest grade counts. Keep a copy of your local practice files. If an inactive enrollment is eligible for cleanup under the applicable policy, it requires advance notice and protects recorded progress.

How do I receive my certificate?

Open all five required lessons and pass both assessments with at least 8/10 in each. Once the course requirements are met, Moodle processes certificate issuance and email delivery through its scheduled tasks. Check spam too. You can also open the certificate activity when available. The certificate records introductory course completion, not professional certification.

What if I cannot install a tool?

Check the official instructions for your operating system and processor. Installation may need administrator permission or a restart. A phone or tablet may not support a desktop toolchain. Contact support for help finding a suitable route before changing security settings or buying software.

I cannot sign in or find the email.

Use Forgot password on the sign-in page. Check your address, spam and mailbox filters. If reCAPTCHA is not loading, check browser permissions and try a private window. Complete the challenge yourself; never send your password, recovery code or authentication code to support.

How do I report an accessibility barrier?

Tell me the course, page and action you could not complete. Describe what you expected and what happened, and optionally the browser or assistive tool you use. Screenshots can help, but remove personal information. I will use that detail to investigate and help you find an alternative.

Can I reuse the learning materials?

Original JGRVERSE learning materials are shared under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0: credit the source, keep adaptations under the same license and follow its noncommercial condition. Third-party materials retain their own licenses. Logos and brand assets are not included in that educational-content license.
